This releases the internal locking mechanism and allows movement of the camera in all directions. Once you mount the base wherever you want that camera, simply loosen a single screw on the base of the mount. Adjustment of each camera’s position is effortless. It was all automatic, with no input from me.
Also impressive was the ease with which the Aero DVR connected to my network. The Aero DVR automatically detected every one of them and adjusted itself for the best display from each. That’s four different styles of cameras from three different manufacturers. Of course I also installed these 5MP cameras. Most of my cameras are the original 600TVL units from 5 years ago, but several were replaced when the older ones failed. The importance of this feature cannot be overstated. Even better, it AUTOMATICALLY adjusts itself based on those inputs. The good: The number one good thing about this system is that it is backward compatible with all my old cameras. This is not necessarily bad, of course, but can present a challenge if you are replacing a smaller DVR from an older system and have limited room in your existing or proposed setup. The Aero DVR is ≈two inches wider and ≈three inches deeper than most camera DVR’s, including my old Q-see. First, a general observation that may be important to some people. During installation, I was pleasantly surprised by some things…and not so much with others. I decided to risk it and purchased directly from the company. I was actually suspicious of the price, since this seemed to offer quite a bit of product at a surprisingly low price point. I initially didn’t think I could afford a 5MP camera system, but found the Revo Aero. Needless to say, I took back that system and started my search anew. After 15 minutes I elected to use their callback option. I called their helpline, which informed me I was #1 in queue. I couldn’t keep its display on my monitor and the images shown on the app were terrible. At $489, it wasn’t cheap and I felt it would be worth it. My first choice was a sale item at BJ’s: a Night Owl 3MP system with 10 cameras. I am not able to re-wire some of my cameras so a new IP system was out I had to stick with HD-over-coax and BNC connectors. I knew I had to replace it with something. Even so, with 30+ years in law enforcement I know firsthand the value of a good camera system.
